This essential 2xCD and digital release follows on from the previous two ‘Pure Intec’ compilations released in 2004 and 2014 respectively, and features some of the label’s biggest names including: Misstress Barbara, Josh Wink, Nicole Moudaber, Danny Serrano, Carlo Lio, Harvey McKay, Cristian Varela as well as Carl Cox and Jon Rundell amongst others. Saeed Younan’s funk-laced classic, ‘Drop It’, kicks off the release, as Carl Cox seamlessly blends the track into Misstress Barbara’s seductive Techno number, ‘Don’t Tease Me’. Other highlights from CD 1 include Jon Rundell’s driving track, ‘Utopia’, prestigious DJ/producer Sidney Charles’ ‘Justice’, Nicole Moudaber’s pounding Techno groover, ‘One Day Later’ and Carl Cox’s Barbadian-influenced hit, ‘Your Light Shines On’. Carl Cox is an iconic figurehead of the electronic music industry, whose influential legacy includes his much famed label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell. Popular with many of Techno’s key players, Intec regularly receives support from the likes of Marco Bailey, Nicole Moudaber, UMEK, Pan-Pot, Ken Ishii, Luigi Madonna and Cristian Varela. The latest Intec release is from UK based artist Phutek who with is proud to present his first release on Carl Cox label following heavy support from Carl in his DJ sets. Phutek has previously released on labels including Yin Yang, Jumpstereo, Element Recordings plus Layer 909, and has featured in the Techno top 100 best sellers on both Beatport and Traxsource. Track one titled “Edged” is dark and punishing Techno with pulsating synth stabs that merge with the subtle euphoria of the melody to create an enthralling sense of mixed emotion. Full throttle and packed with energy, the tracks captivating dancefloor groove is peak time and expertly programmed. Essential for any DJ this is a sure fire selection for those looking to get the party started. The second track “Prodigious” takes no prisoners from the start, with its rolling bassline and hard hitting percussion played in fast flowing rhythms. Not for the faint-hearted the track has a menacing sense of tension brought to life with dramatic bursts of sinister sounding FX. The new Intec release is from D-Unity and Matt Sassari who made their label debut in 2016 with a top selling EP titled “Fire Up” and now it’s time for a much anticipated follow up. Canadian artist D-Unity has previously released on a wide selection of labels ranging from Toolroom and Suara to Yoshitoshi and Armada. Often at the top of sales charts, his party starting Techno anthems are regularly supported by everyone from Eric Prydz to Danny Tenaglia. French man Matt Sassari is also a high calibre artist whose music has featured on labels including Tronic, Bitten and UMEK’s 1605 amongst many others. He is also a popular DJ regularly flying between continents to play international gigs. Both D-Unity and Matt Sassari are solo artists, but when they come together and collaborate their combined output is stuff of legend. The first track titled “I Like It” has a thick foundation laid by the tracks pounding kick drum. Powerful vocals infuse the track with energy, pulsating pads provide enthralling tension, and bass stabs provide the final touch to this high octane slice of hands in the air Techno. Track two “All I Want Is” follows the same formula as the first, but with a Hip Hop influenced vocal sample it has more of a party vibe. With a slight tribal influence from the rolling percussion this dancefloor focused track is a prefect party starter.
